We are into
the swing of things here in fifth grade. Our
students are working hard and are off to a great
start.

Please check
your child's homework notebook nightly to keep
informed of assignments and
projects.

Our first
reading theme is called Nature's Fury in which we
are reading about earthquakes, hurricanes, and
volcanoes. Students are very interested in learning
about these kinds of natural disasters.
During the month
of October, students will be given information on
how to
complete
their
Nature's Fury project. Look for details to come
home at the beginning of the month.

In order to
help your child be successful in math, please
encourage them to review their facts (addition,
subtraction, multiplication, and division). A good,
solid foundation of math facts is vital to your
child's success in math.

We are very
excited about our new science series. Students will
be learning many different concepts as well as
doing investigations. Passwords to view the
student's textbook online will be sent home in the
near future. Be sure to check it out when you
receive the information.
Our fifth grade students will
be starting off the school year with map skills in
social studies and lessons about being unique in
health class. From there, we will move on to the 13
colonies and as well as body systems.
