Currently, the sixth grade students of Baker Elementary use the Houghton Mifflin Reading and Math series. In Science, we use the Pennsylvania Harcourt Series which is a 2009 edition. These series, as well as all other solid subject areas have all been aligned to the Pennsylvania state standards and eligible content. Due to this, we will all be able to better prepare our students for the PSSA (Pennsylvania System of School Assessments).

The PSSA Reading and Math are given in April. In addition to our rigorous academics, sixth graders enjoy many wonderful opportunities such as their yearly class trip to Pittsburgh, a social, recognition, and a patrol trip to Hershey Park.

All classrooms from Kindergarten through Sixth Grade contain Promethean white boards, access to wireless laptops, and access to a Compass Odyssey Computer Lab.
