Baker students have begun to use the "tools of the trade" necessary for PSSA preparation.

Reading comprehension and writing prompt exercises are an important part of our schedule.

Problem solving is made easier as the boys and girls use

"Math Magic Words"

[to get, to find, to show, to see, to figure out, since...]

to explain answers to many story problems. There is an abundance of learning going on in the Third Grade classrooms!

COME JANUARY 2009:

Third Graders will be having extra math and reading lessons.

Weekly "At Home" assignments will also be occurring.

REMEMBER:

PSSA TESTING will be given to all

3 - 6 graders

during March 16 - 27, 2009

Third Grade will be testing 4-6 days during these days.

There are 6 sessions[3 of math and 3 reading].

Specific days will be announced closer to this time.

Please do not plan a vacation during this time. Thank you!
